for Comment on Critical Issues & Status of Major Projects |

| In an effort to increase communication among residents and City administrators, this resolution asked that the City Manager give regular reports at televised Council Meetings so that both the Council and residents can keep up to date on city happenings. | |||||||||||||||
| WHEREAS, | many of the citizens of Newport view the recorded council meetings on public access television; and |
||||||||||||||
| WHEREAS, |
the City Council has established the creation of a communications plan as one of its goals; and |
||||||||||||||
| WHEREAS, | in order to keep our citizens advised of critical issues and major projects and events in the City of Newport, it would be beneficial for the city administration to report on their activities at the opening of each council meeting. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT |
||||||||||||||
| RESOLVED: | that, following the "Citizens Forum" on the Council Docket, a schedule will be established so that the City Manager, or his designee, shall report on critical issues, major projects, or matters of public interest. |
